Notes:
Extended detention shallow wetlands is the same as the shallow marsh, with additional storage above the surface of the marsh. Stormwater is temporarily ponded above the surface in the extended detention zone for between twelve and twenty-four hours. This design can treat a greater volume of stormwater in a smaller space than the shallow marsh design. In the extended detention wetland option, plants that can tolerate wet and dry periods should be specified in the extended detention zone.
