Slide 3 of 119
Notes:
As each practice is reviewed, abbreviations will be used for common terms, as shown in this slide. For each practice, a general sequence of slides will be provided including: a schematic, applicability and performance summary, design notes, and one or two representative photographs.
The applicability and performance slide will contain the following information:
- any drainage area requirements/constraints that are applicable,
- subjective ranking of ease of maintenance, community acceptance, and cost
- whether the practice can be used to meet the requirements for groundwater recharge, pollutant removal (based on being able to provide about 80% removal for TSS), channel protection, and overbank flood protection,
- and pollutant removal capabilities for TSS, TP, and TN, which are commonly found in urban stormwater.
The pollutant removal data for all practices except the micropool ED pond, infiltration basin, underground sand filter, and pocket sand filter are from the National Pollutant Removal Performance Database (CWP, 2000), while the rest of the data was independently gathered by CWP.
